Review by: TOModera

Hi again! Today I’ll be reviewing Compass Box Oak Cross. This bottle was left in my house by a friend, and after a long time, I just started drinking it for the heck of it. I’m now almost out, and will have to look into other Compass Box bottles as well. This is a great blend, probably one of the best I’ve ever had.
Distillery: Blend of 47% Clynelish, 14% Dailuaine, 39% Highland Malt Blend
Bottler: Compass Box
Region: Blend
ABV: 43%.
Age: Unknown
Cask type: First-fill Bourbon and European Oak
Price: $52.95 (CAN)
Color: Safety yellow
Nose: Powerful Vanilla, like an ex-girlfriend’s overuse of perfume… wait, of topic now… ahem, pepper, lemongrass, faint sea spray, butterscotch, faint Terry’s Orange, some other type of orange candy, light Tabasco sauce
Palate: Cointreau, chili, light oak, key lime pie, and something that I would call allspice candy, however I have never had such a thing, so I`m somewhat confused
Finish: Heavy orange followed by a heavy oak campfire, and then finally candied orange rind mixed with an earthy cumin/peat/nutmeg mix.
Conclusion: Solid (I didn’t write a conclusion for some reason)
Final Score: 83.
