Color: 1.2, Chesnut/Oloroso Sherry.

Nose: This smells a bit of honey roasted peanuts along with some warm banana bread.

Palate: On the sweeter side of things but also very mellow at the same time. There’s not a whole lot going on here; a bit of caramel pops in and out along with some banana bread.

Finish: Longer than it really should be. It’s pure ethanol here.

Conclusion: I recently sent a care package to a friend of mine overseas containing various miniatures of Jack Daniel’s whiskey (guy loves his Jack) when I remembered I’ve had a miniature of Gentleman Jack sitting on my whiskey cabinet. I’d never had it and I’d just sent him one so I figured it was about time to crack this open. For the most part, it’s fairly inoffensive and drinkable. There’s a little bit of banana going on with a bit of sweetness, nothing too fancy. And then we get to the finish. It’s awful. It literally only tastes of ethanol and it lasts way longer than it should. If you look past the finish, it’s a perfectly “okay” whiskey though I doubt I’ll be buying any more anytime soon.
