Nose: Quite boozey. I get a couple of different liqueur’s here. Cherry, orange, and coffee liqueurs all come through along with some amaretto.

Palate: Main notes I got where a Christmas spice bomb. Cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon come through absolutely strongly. Water doesn’t change it much. The last few sips were quite chocolate-y, which took a couple of hours as I drank a single dram of this over the course watching Dune.

Finish: Medium-to-short in length. There’s only one note here and it’s of chocolate. Chocolate, chocolate, and even more chocolate. With some water, the chocolate becomes a touch creamier but otherwise not much changed.

Conclusion: /u/L_Tyrion has raved to me on multiple occasions about Glenmorangie Signet so I figured I should try it out one of these days. The flavors in the palate were quite a surprise! It’s so full of notes I’d traditionally associate with rye whisky. Christmas spices are around galore, particularly nutmeg and clove. The various liqueurs in the nose and the chocolate in the finish help give this another layer of flavor, which is nice. Would I buy a bottle? It’s hard to justify this against a far more reasonably priced rye but it is tasty.
