Still: Pot
ABV: 52.14%, Cask Strength
Age: 5 years. Distilled in 2017. Bottled in 2022.
Cask type: Ex-Caroni Rum, 5 years in Haiti.
Price: €160.00
Color: Natural Color. Non-chill-filtered.
Nose: Industrial, faint hydraulic fluid, bine, olives, orange peel, pepper
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Olive, Brine, hydraulic fluid, orange peel, peppery, lemon zest
Finish: Medium length finish, Brine, Olives, hydraulic fluid, orange peel, lemon zest
Conclusion: A great release. Heavy on the caroni influence which is nice. However, I feel 5 years in an active cask has covered up the base flavor of this rum. But, it’s a nice vehicle for the Caroni flavor and is enjoyable to drink.
