Review by: The Auditor

One of my favorite things about trying rum is that it is made in so many places in so many different styles. Africa is not a place I often associate with rum but here we have the 2nd African country that I am trying rum from, Ghana. This is also the 2nd African distillery using cane juice for their rum.
Distillery: MId-West Ghana
Bottler: Compagnie Des Indes
Region: Ghana
Still: Pot
ABV: 50.0%.
Age: Unaged
Price: €50.00
Color: Natural Color
Nose: Faint, raspberry, bell pepper, brine
Palate: Light mouthfeel, brine, bell pepper, a bit of lemon, minerality
Finish: Short finish, Brine, Bell pepper, slight lemon
Conclusion: This has good promise. I can tell the base distillate is of good quality. I’m not sure if this needs more proof or it’s distilled high and watered down low. I want to like this more than I do, its cane juice and pot still so it should be a winner. But, if it were a bit cheaper I’d keep some around (I might even just get some for the novelty)
