This rum comes to us from Isautier, a little known distillery located on the Island of La Reunion. I will link Single Cask Rum’s fantastic article on the distillery. This rum we have in front of us today was aged for 16 years in Reunion after being distilled from fresh pressed cane juice. It was then bottled with no additives in 2022. This rum was bottled for La Masion & Velier’s 6th anniversary.

Nose: Nuttiness, Raspberry, Green Apple, leather, earthy, minerality
Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Raspberry, Nuttiness, Leather, Green Apple, Earthy, star anise, motor oil, vegetal
Finish: Medium length finish, motor oil, nuttiness, leather, Star Anise, Raspberry
Conclusion:
Delicious old sugarcane juice, another great one from the island of La Reunion.

- 85-89: Excellent, a standout dram.

- 60-69: Not so good. I might not turn down a glass if I needed a drink.
