Review by: The Auditor

This rum comes to us from La Masion and Velier the dependent bottler. This rum was bottled to celebrate LM&V 5 year anniversary in the USA. This single cask is from Demerara Distillers Limited which is the only rum distillery located in Guyana. This rum was distilled on the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot still from molasses, aged for 2 years in ex-bourbon in Guyana before being moved to an ex-Port cask for 22 years in Europe. It was then bottled at a high proof with no additives, colorings, or filtrations.

Conclusion:
This is an excellent Port Mourant offering. Coffee, espresso, vegetalness, and some Eucalyptus pops all throughout. The oak provides a nice backbone but doesn’t dominate or taste over-oaked. The proof is well integrated as well. This is a great choice for LM&V for their anniversary and a wonderful example of well aged Port Mourant. The port cask I feel brings some fruits that pair well, but that base distillate is so powerful it remains well in control.
