This rum comes to us from Isautier, a distillery located on Reunion Island. This molasses rum was produced from Reunion cane and distilled on a column still. It was aged for 16 years before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.

Nose: Raspberry, Allspice, blackberry, Cinnamon

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Raspberry, Allspice, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Black Pepper, Black Tea, Star Anise

Finish: Star Anise, Raspberry, Allspice, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Black Tea


Conclusion: 

This is a great rum. It had a good chunk of savory flavors with some of that star anise peeking in. The oak is well integrated as well. Some fruits pop in too. A great rum, but the Sugarcane release is slightly better.

  • 0-49: Blech.
