Review #1062; Rum #390

Ed Hamilton is most well known for his Hamilton independent rum bottlings. From the St.Lucia single barrels to the more value oriented cocktailing bottles his brand has brought in a lot of good rums to the US. Here we have some further single barrels being brought in, in this case some Jamaican rum from Clarendon. This cask was brought in by K&L Wines and Spirits in California. Let’s see how it is.
Distillery: Clarendon
Bottler: Hamilton
Region: Jamaica
Still: Pot Still
ABV: 68.2%
Cask: 6 Years ex-bourbon in Jamaica, 4 years in the UK.
Nose: Floral, Passionfruit, Guava, Raspberry, Vicks Vapor Rub, Lime Peel
Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Passionfruit, Mango, raspberry, cough syrup, lime peel, sour candies.
Finish: : Medium finish, mango, allspice, passionfruit, guava, floral, sour candy, slight minerality,
Conclusion: This thing is my jam. Fruity, floral, a bit on menthol. Drinks well below proof and man this is just a profile that I really enjoy. What a great rum.
