Review #1067; Rum Review #395

This is a bottling of rum from the Caroni Distillery, that famed closed distillery on Trinidad. This bottling was done by The Creative Whisky co. Aged for 17 years before being bottled with no additives, let us see how it is.
Distillery: Caroni
Bottler: The Creative Whisky Co.
Region: Trinidad
Still: Column
ABV: 54.9%
Nose: Heavy industrial, hydraulic fluid, Orange Peel, Cumin, vanilla chai, Guava.
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Vanilla chia, dark chocolate, light hydraulic fluid, orange peel, black tea, Guava.
Finish: : Longer length finish, oil, hot plastic, dark chocolate, black tea, Guava.
Conclusion: An excellent Caroni (though I am a fan of the style). This one is really vibrant and aggressive. Those industrial notes are front and center but tempered by a surprising fruitiness. It all makes for an enjoyable rum drinking experience, if very intense.
