Review #1099; Rum #426
The rum here comes from Demerara distillers limited located in Guyana. His rum was a blend that was last produced in 1998. This is a blend of light rum that was produced on the Tri-Canada Redistillation Still that was blended and aged in rums from the Port Mourant and Enmore stills. This molasses based rum was aged for 24 years in Guyana before being bottled.
The tri-Canada still is a modern column still that is not used much for rum distillation anymore and mainly serves to make grain neutral alcohol for the other spirit drinks that DDL produces.

Conclusion: This is a very good rum. It has those nice dark savory notes, a bit of fruit, and some sweetness that brings it all together. But it is still just very good. It doesn’t really rise above that and while not a bad thing, when you are out here charging 300 Euros for it, not really worth it.
