Review #1103; Rum #429
This is a rum bottled by Dead Reckoning, an independent bottler based out of Australia. This rum comes from the Beenleigh distillery. Distilled from molasses, it is a blend of Pot and Column distillate. It aged for 4 years in North Queensland Australia before being sent to Europe for another 5 years of ageing before being bottled with no additives or chill filtering.
Distillery: Beenleigh
Bottler: Dead Reckoning
Region: Australia
ABV: 55%
Still: Pot & Column
Cask: Ex Bourbon, 4 Years in Australia, 5 years in Europe.
Price: $140.00
Nose: Butterscotch, Honeydew, Vanilla Wafers, Orange Peel, Apple
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Orange Peel, Honeydew, Apricot, Vanilla Wafer, Peppery, Apple
Finish: Long length finish, Orange Peel, Honeydew, Vanilla, Peppery, Minerality, Apple
Conclusion: This is a great rum. It has a ton of nice fruity notes and great minerality. Those flavors form the backbone while a bit of pepperiness pops in and out. The apple really lingers for a good bit on the finish along with the minerality.
