Rest and Be Thankful Monymusk 9 Year 2012

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1154; Rum #469

Here we have a blend of rums from the Monymusk (Clarendon) distillery in Jamaica. This rum was distilled from molasses and aged in ex-bourbon casks for 9 years (mostly in Europe) before being bottled with no additives.

Distillery: Monymusk

Bottler: Rest and Be Thankful

Region: Jamaica

Cask: Ex-Bourbon

ABV: 46%

Nose: Vanilla, Pencil Shavings, touch of pineapple, lemon

Palate: Lighter mouthfeel, Pencil Shavings, Touch of Pineapple, lemon , vanilla

Finish:  Medium length finish, Pencil Shavings, Pineapple, Vanilla, touch of lemon

Conclusion: Overall, a very good rum. Some of the pencil notes keep it from rising above but it has good flavors that are well balanced. Priced a little too high for me ($88 in the USA from what I could find) but a very good blend.

Final Score: 85
