Review #1155; Rum #470
Baie Des Trésors is not a distillery that I had heard of until I saw this bottle recently. This is a Rhum Agricole from Martinique and comes from sugar cane grown on the Agricole Du Galion. This is the Plein Soleil “White Rum” release. The fresh pressed cane juice from the estate is distilled on column still owned by Sainte-Marie.
Distillery: Baie Des Trésors via Saint James
Bottler: Baie Des Trésors
Region: Martinique
ABV: 54%
Nose: Touch of Lemon, Minerality, Vegetal, Floral
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Lemon, Floral, Minerality, Grassy
Finish: Medium length finish, Lemon, Floral, Minerality, Vegetal, Peppery, Grassy
Conclusion: A very good, quality agricole rum. The flavors here are really nice and well balanced. It doesn’t rise to the greatness of some other unaged Rhum Agricole for me, but it is a very solid offering. I wish it was a bit cheaper, however.
