Review #1189; Brandy #65
Here we have a bottling of Domaine Lous Pibous from L’Encantada. This Armagnac was produced from Folle Blanche grapes. This distillate was then aged for 28 years in a dry clear before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.
Distillery: Lous Pibous
Bottler: L’Encantada
Region: France
Cask: New Oak
ABV: 55.1%
Nose: Dark chocolate, Raspberry Compote, Figs, Leather, Nutmeg, Crème Brulee, Candied Orange Peel
Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Raspberry Compote, Figs, Dark Chocolate, Orange Peel, Nutmeg, Cherry, Lemon Juice
Finish: Long Finish, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, Cinnamon, Orange Peel, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Lemon Juice
Conclusion: I haven’t reviewed any brandy in awhile so I just pulled this out of the pile and wow this thing is delicious. A good bit of oak but not overpowering. Fruity, savory, ands spicy in all that best ways. That Raspberry note is powerful and delicious. A real winner of cask here and Im real sad it is sold out now. Ah well, only a few years too late.
