The Whisky Jury TDL 13 Year 2009

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1193; Rum #507

Here we have a bottling of rum done by The Whisky Jury an independent bottler based in Belgium. This rum was distilled from molasses at Trinidad Distillers limited in Trinidad on a column still. It then aged for 10 years in Trinidad before ageing another 3 years in Europe. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives in 2023.

Distillery: Trinidad Distillers Limited

Bottler: The Whisky Jury

Region: Trinidad

ABV: 62.9%

Nose: Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, slight Star Anise, Vicks Vapor Rub, Hydraulic fluid

Palate:  Thick oily  mouthfeel, Star Anise, Vicks Vapor Rub, Raspberry, Dark Chocolate, Blackberry, Hydraulic fluid

Finish:   Long finish, Star Anise, Raspberry, Blackberry, Dark Chocolate, Earl Grey tea, mint, Hydraulic fluid

Conclusion: Dang. This is an impressive bottle of rum. The flavors are bold and punchy with that Raspbbery / Star Anise being the back bone here. A bit of other fruit and spices bring it all together for a rum with impressive depth and character.

Final Score: 91
