That Boutique-y Rum Co. TDL 19 Year 1999

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1211; Rum #525

This is another bottling of rum from Trinidad Distillers Limited bottled by That Boutique-Y Rum Company. This rum was distilled from molasses on a multi=column still, likely put into an ex-bourbon cask, and bottled at cask strength with no additives after 19 years. This rum is also of the FPH marque, an old Fernandes distillery marque that is a heavy column rum.

Distillery: Trinidad Distillers Limited

Bottler: That Boutique-y Rum Company

Region: Trinidad

Still: Column

ABV: 57.4%

Nose: Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, Leathery, Cherry, Black Tea

Palate:   Medium oily mouthfeel, Cherry, Star Anise, Leather, Black Tea

Finish:  Long Finish, Cherry, Black Pepper, Leather, Star Anise, Ginger

Conclusion: Great blend of flavors, long finish, this is yet again another showing of the great rums that TDL can put out when they want to. I slightly prefer the 2006 TBRC TDL as I think it brings more complexity and ooph, but but of these are rums I would be very happy to drink.
