Raising Glasses Pelée’s Fury – Martinique Grand Arôme Rum

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1221; Rum #535

This sample was provided to me by a producer, distributor, or some other industry source free-of-charge. No compensation, outside of the sample, was received and there were no strings attached.

This is a bottling of rum done by Raising Glasses, an American independent bottler located in Massachusetts. (You can check out the newest episode of the Rumcast podcast to hear an interview with the founders). This is a bottling of unaged column still rum from Le Galion distillery located on Martinique. This rum a Grand Arome, a specific style of French rums that are high ester and use dunder to create the pungent and wild flavors they have. Let’s see how this one turned out.

Distillery: Le Galion

Bottler: Raising Glasses

Region: Martinique

Still: Column

ABV: 62.5%

Nose: Pungent, Brine, Beef Bouillon, Caramelized Onions, Nutty, touch of balsamic, Coriander, Black pepper, Lemon oil, a touch earthy

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Brine, Beef Bouillon, Nutty, balsamic, Coriander, Lemon Oil, Umami, Black Pepper, touch of green apple

Finish: Long, Brine, Beef Bouillon, Balsamic, Coriander, Lemon Oil, Umami, Black Pepper, touch of green apple

Conclusion: No surprises here, unaged Le Galion is awesome and since my last bottle was finished, I was sad that there wasn’t any more easily available. However, this right here is available so I will have to grab some more. It’s just such a unique savory rum and a must try for rum nerds imo.
