Review #1232; Rum #545
This is an aged version of the Maggie’s Farm x Hidden Harbor rum. This is an aged version of a rum that is a blend of Maggie’s Farm unaged Queen’s share rum that is blended with rums from Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, Guyana, and Martinique. This rum was aged for 2 years in ex-rum casks before being bottled for Hidden Harbor, a tiki bar in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
Distillery: Blend of Various distilleries
Bottler: Maggie’s Farm
Region: Many
Still: Column & Pot
ABV: 50%
Cask: Ex-Rum
Nose: Pineapple, Black Pepper, a touch of Banana
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Vanilla, banana, pineapple, touch of lime peel, nutmeg
Finish: Medium length finish, Vanilla, Pineapple, Banana, touch of vegetal, nutmeg, toasted brown sugar
Conclusion:This is a very good aged rum blend. It sips very nice neat with a nice rounding off the flavors the unaged version of this which I tried quite a few years ago now and deserves a revisit. However, this comes across as a classic rummy rum. Cocktails do not play into my scores but this is quite good in a daiquiri as is the unaged version of this.
