Dillon Brut de Colonne

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1238; Rum #548

This rum is a brut de colonne release from distillerie Dillon on Martinique. This rhum agricole was distilled from fresh pressed cane juice on a column still and bottled at still strength with no additives. Though I must note that the brand Dillon is distilled on a Creole Column still is located at Depaz and is solely used to make Dillon rum.

Distillery: Dillon (Depaz)

Bottler: Dillon

Region: Martinique

Still:Coumn

ABV: 71.3%

Nose: Lemon Peel, Minerality, Coriander, chalky, Earthy, toasted nuts, apple, White Pepper

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Minerality, Lemon Peel, Coriander, apple, toasted nuts, earthy, touch of vanilla sweetness, White Pepper

Finish: Long finish, Minerality, lemongrass, Coriander, Apple, Toasted Nuts, earthy, Vanilla

Conclusion: This is an excellent rhum agricole. Its packed for a flavor, well balanced, and rises up to some of the other great high proof agricoles that exist. A touch of water really opens it up as well, bringing up more of that cane sweetness and taming the heat. But overall this would be a great addition to your rhum agricole arsenal.
