Savanna Trad G High Ester Rum

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1239; Rum #549

This is an original bottling of rum from the Savanna distillery located on Reunion island. This rum was distilled from molasses on a Savallae column still with a 6 day long fermentation time. It comes out with an ester count of 248 g/hlap

Distillery: Savanna

Bottler: Savanna

Region: Reunion

Still: Column

ABV: 69%

Nose: Briney, Grapefruit, Iodine, peppery, sweaty, Orange Peel

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Grapefruit, Brine, Pepper, Iodine, ginger, Orange Peel

Finish: Medium length finish, Grapefruit, Brine, Pepper, Star Anise, Ginger

Conclusion: I like this a lot. It has a good amount of fruity sweetness that is tempered by the more grungy industrial notes. A bit of brine and spices round it out as well.
