Review #1240; Rum #550
This bottling is a new edition of rum from the Worthy Park distillery in Jamaica. This is a new blend of molasses and cane juice rums meant to replace the Rum Bar Overproof blend. This rum was distilled on a copper bot still, blended in Jamaica, and bottled with no additives at a high proof.
Distillery: Worthy Park
Bottler: Worthy Park
Region: Jamaica
Still: Pot
ABV: 63%
Nose: Tropical fruits, Banana, Guava, touch of brine, grass, lemon zest
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, crisp, Banana, brine, lemongrass, coriander, touch of toasted coconut flakes
Finish: Medium length finish, banana, brine, lemongrass, black pepper, coriander, toasted coconut flakes
Conclusion: This is a great new rum for Worthy Park. The cane juice brings a touch of brine and grass zest to the already great flavor the classic worthy park flavors that are already here. I like this neat, but it would truly shine in a cocktail as expected from a Jamaican overproof rum.
