La Hechicera Reserva Familiar Ron

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1243; Rum #552

Here we have a bottling of rum that is a product of Colombia. This is a rum that is marketed as being produced via the “solero” method and claims rums aged between 12 and 21 years. Per various online sugar testings and the website, this rum has no additives as far as sugar goes. Other than that, there isn’t much to go on as far as production details.

Distillery: Unknown

Bottler: La Hechicera

Region: Colombia

Still: Unknown

ABV: 40%

Nose: Vanilla, Light Caramel, Brown Sugar

Palate: Light Mouthfeel, Vanilla, Toasted Brown Sugar, Caramel

Finish: Medium finish, Toasted Brown Sugar, Caramel, Vanilla

Conclusion: This is the definition of a fine rum. It has decent base flavor, though it comes off a touch too simple. It’s a pretty pleasant sessionable rum though, one meant for enjoying thrown into something simple or just to fill up as you play some board games. As a low proof approachable rum, I can see this being an alright one to introduce your friends to.
