Saint James Couer De Chauffe

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1242; Rum #551

This rum here was distilled at the Saint James distillery on Martinique from fresh pressed cane juice. However, this rum was not distilled on the traditional column still, instead this was distilled on a pot still and bottled with no additives at a high proof.

Distillery: Saint James

Bottler: Saint James

Region: Martinique

Still: Pot

ABV: 60%

Nose: Lemony, Brine, Minerality, Peppery

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Lemon Zest, Peppery, Minerality, Toasted Coconut, Brown Sugar, Green Apple

Finish: Medium length finish, Lemon Zest, Minerality, Toasted Coconut, Green Apple

Conclusion: A great unaged cane juice offering, this is delicious to sip neat, brings a ton of flavor, but also drinks under its proof. It’s also very affordable which doesn’t factor into my scores but should be notes here. Overall what a great cane juice rum.

Final Score: 88
