Review by: The Auditor

Review #1275; Rum #580

Here we have a bottle of rum that came from the Damoiseau (Bellevue) distillery bottled by Hunter Laing (Kill Devil). This molasses based rum was distilled in 1998, aged for 20 years in a mix of tropical and continental ageing locations, and bottled at cask strength with no additives for The Whisky Barrel website.

Distillery: Bellevue

Bottler: Hunter Laing (Kill Devil)

Region: Guadeloupe

Still: Column

ABV: 58.8%

Nose: Raspberry, Cherry, Slight Menthol, dark chocolate,

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Raspberry, Menthol, Dark Chocolate, Black Pepper, nuttiness,

Finish:  Medium length finish, Raspberry, Menthol, Dark Chocolate, nuttiness

Conclusion: This is a great rum, it falls in that vein of Raspberry menthol cough syrup, but not as intense as others in that flavor vein that Ive had. Nevertheless, this is a great and tasty rum.
