Review #1293; Rum #598
This is some rum that was bottled by Raising Glasses, an American Independent bottler based out of Massachusetts. Kyrie, the 1st batch, was a fresh pressed cane juice rum from the now defunct RummieClub distillery located in the Netherlands. How did they get fresh pressed cane juice in the Netherlands you ask? By shipping it over from Vietnam frozen of course. This 2nd batch was distilled in a pot still, the same as the 1st batch, but was aged for 3 months in an ex-rum cask before being bottled at cask strength.
Distillery: Rummieclub
Bottler: Raising Glasses
Region: Netherlands
Still: Pot
ABV: 61.1%
Nose: Brine, Vanilla, Fennel, Coriander
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Lemon Peel, Coriander, Fennel, Brine, Umami
Finish: Medium length Finish, Lemon Peel, Coriander, Brine, Fennel, Umami
Conclusion: All in all, another great release from Raising Glasses and sad that Rummieclub has closed, because this is some seriously good rum. It compares pretty darn close to the 1st batch and I can’t even tell it has spent any time in a cask. If you missed the first one, go grab this one.
