Review #1308; Rum #613
Here we have a rhum distilled at the Engenhos do Norte distillery located on the island of Madeira. This rum was distilled from fresh pressed cane juice before being bottled at a high proof with no additives.
Distillery: Engenhos do Norte
Bottler: Engenhos do Norte
Region: Madeira.=
Still: Column
ABV: 60%
Nose: Lemongrass, Minerality, Mint, Salinity
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Lemongrass, Salinity, Mint, Touch of Chlorine
Finish: Medium length finish, Peppery, Lemongrass, Salinity, Mint
Conclusion: A fine unaged agricole, it hits those notes I tend to like and find but doesn’t rise to some of the great ones I’ve tried.
