Review #1309; Rum #614

This rhum was distilled at the Saint James distillery on the island of Martinique. It was distilled in the Rhum Agricole style of fresh pressed cane juisce on a Creole Column still.

Distillery: Saint James

Bottler: La Maison Du Whisky

Region:  Martinique

Still: Column

ABV: 58.1%

Nose:  Orange Peel, Nuttiness, Nutmeg, Dark Chocolate

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Nuttiness, Orange Peel, Dark Chocolate, Blackberry, touch of Leather, Wood Varnish, Nutmeg, Allspice, Cola

Finish:   Long finish, Raspberry, Nuttiness, Orange Peel, Dark Chocolate, Blackberry, Leather, Nutmeg, Cola

Conclusion: This is one of those long aged agricoles that I just love to drink. It has those nutty notes, a ton of fruits, spices, and its all very concentrated and intense. It might lean a little wood dominant for some but if you’re gonna age agricole, I usually want it like this.
