Review #1329; Rum #634
Here we have a bottle of rum from Roaming Road, an American Independent bottler based out of Wyoming. This rum was distilled from molasses on a copper pot still, it aged for 12 years in a once used ex-bourbon cask before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.
Distillery: Worthy Park
Bottler: Roaming Road
Region: Jamaica
Still: Pot
ABV: 68.7%
Nose: Caramelized Banana , Vanilla Chia, Allspice, Blackberry, Bready
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Vanilla Chai, Caramelized Banana, Black Pepper, Blackberry, Cherry Cola, Over-ripe Guava, Bready
Finish: Medium length finish, Caramelized Banana, Blackberry, Cherry Cola, Allspice, Over-ripe Guava, Bready
Conclusion: This one is a real winner. Its punchy and bold but with that different, more refined over-ripe deep fruit flavors as opposed to some of the more wild and industrial notes other Jamaican rums can have. The spices are a nice compliment to the fruit and vanilla chai. The backbone of oak is pretty welcome and not overwhelming. If I had to guess this is a Worthy Park
