Wu Dram Clan Dos Delinquentes Fiji 17 Year 2006

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1348; Rum #651

This rum was bottled for Wu Dram Clan, and independent bottler. This rum was distilled from molasses on a pot still in Fiji where it aged for 11 years. It then aged for another 6 years in Europe before being bottled at cask strength with no additives for Wu Dram.

Distillery: South Pacific

Bottler: Wu Dram Clan

Region: Fiji

Still: Pot

ABV: 72.5%

Nose: Vanilla, Allspice, Black Pepper, Sandalwood

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Vanilla, Black Pepper, Sandalwood, Green Apple, Brine, Allspice

Finish:  Medium length finish, Allspice, Sandalwood, Black Pepper, Dark Chocolate, Cinnamon, Vanilla

Conclusion: This rum is not my favorite Fiji rum in terms of flavor profile. The wood is very aggressive here and the oak dominates. I don’t find any of that industrialness or rubber notes I get. There are some nice fruits and spices here but the oak is aggressive for me.

Final Score: 85
