Bounty White

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1380; Rum #683

Bounty White is a rum made at the Saint Lucia Distillers rum distillery on the island of Saint Lucia. This rum is distilled from molasses on a 100% column still, aged for 2 years in ex-bourbon casks on the island, then charcoal filtered to remove the color.

Distillery: Saint Lucia Distillers

Bottler:Saint Lucia Distillers

Region: Saint Lucia

Still: Column

ABV: 40%

Nose: Vanilla, Lime Zest, Cream

Palate: Light mouthfeel, Vanilla, Orange, Lime Zest, Metallic Tinge

Finish:  Short Finish, Lime, Vanilla, Metallic Tinge

Conclusion: Not bad by any means. It has a light and pleasant flavor, if a bit unremarkable. I know this is meant to be a cocktail workhorse and its real cheap. I can see it being quite effective that kind of role. For me at least, I think I’d spend up a little and get Real McCoy 3 year which I find a bit better for a similar application. But then again, I am a very basic cocktail guy and just drink most things neat.

Final Score: 77
