Amateur Spirit Sabine Dulhoste 1984

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1391; Brandy #75

This Armagnac comes from the Dulhoste family farm and was distilled by Sabine Dulhoste. This was distilled from 100% Baco grapes, aged for 40 years in oak casks which were made from trees grown on the farm, and bottled with natural color, no additives, and no chill-filtration.

Conclusion: For me, this is fine and is meant towards bigger oak fiends than I. I normally don’t find very well aged spirits exceptionally oak driven but this is the case here. It opened up quite nice but the more of it I drank the more that oak came out and just bashed me over the head with a 2×4, which really brought down a good spirit with interesting flavors. Fine for me, but others probably will enjoy it a lot more.
