Review #1405; Rum #704
This is a single cask of rum from Alambique Serrano’s 3 Años line of rums aged at least 3 years. This rum was distilled from fresh pressed cane juice, distilled on the krassel column still, then aged for 3.5 years in an ex-bourbon cask before begin bottled at cask strength with no additives.
Distillery: Krassel Family Distillery
Bottler: Alambique Serrano
Region: Mexico
Still: Column
ABV: 55.3%
Nose: Pine, Nutmeg, Allspice, Orange Peel
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Orange Peel, Pine, Nutmeg, Earthy, Allspice, Clove, and Vanilla
Finish: Medium length finish, Orange Peel, Nutmeg, Pine, Allspice, Vanilla
This is a very spice forward offering of Alambique. It gives me holiday vibes with all the baking spices and touches of vanilla and cinnamon. A bit of pine makes me think of fall too. Just a very good bottle from Alambique for me.
