Review #1414; Rum #713
Here we have a collaboration between Ed Hamilton of Hamilton rums fame and Beachbum Berry of Tiki and Latitude 29 fame. This is rum blend created to make a one bottle blend intended to be used for a number of tiki cocktails classics, but primarily the Zombie. The end result is a blend of rums from Jamaica, Guyana, and the Dominica Republic bottled at a high proof with no additives.
Distillery: Worthy Park, DDL, Dominican Distillery
Bottler: Hamilton
Region: Jamaica, Guyana, Dominican Republic
Still: Pot & Column
ABV: 57%
Nose: Clove, Banana, Coriander
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Clove, Banana, Coriander, Black Pepper, Vanilla
Finish: Short Finish, Vanilla, Banana, Metallica Tinge
This rum is fine neat. I can see it being good in its intended cocktail purpose but its just a little rough around the edges for neat drinking. However, its good to have these products out there, especially since it’s a cool project between Ed and the Bum.
