Review #1427; Rum #726
Here we have a bottling of rum from the Flag Series, a bottling lime from LMDW that seeks to hold up the rums of Countries. This Barbados rum was distilled in 2011 in St.Philip Barbados as a pot and column blend from molasses. It aged for 8 years in the tropics in ex-bourbon and 6 years in Europe before being bottled at cask strength with no additives. This is a single cask for the USA
Distillery: Foursquare
Bottler: LMDW
Region: Barbados
Still: Pot & Column
ABV: 64.4%
Nose: Toasted Coconut, Black Pepper, Allspice, Vanilla Chai
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Toasted Coconut, Vanilla Chai, Black Pepper, Coriander
Finish: Medium mouthfeel, Toasted Coconut, Black Pepper, Coriander, Vanilla Chai
This is a very good example of rum from Barbados. Well balanced, good flavor, that vanilla pop is quite nice. This release doesn’t quite rise to the other Barbados rums I’ve had but its still very good.
