Review #1452; Rum #751
Here we have a bottle of rum from A1710 distillery, a newer distillery located on the island of Martinique. This rum was distilled from fresh pressed sugar cane juice that fermented for 5 days and then was distilled on a Charentais copper seven plate column still. It is then bottled with no additives.
Distillery: A1710
Bottler: A1710
Region: Martinique
Still: Column
ABV: 54.5%
Nose: Brine, Minerality, Chalk , Allspice, Lemon Pith, Lavender
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Brine, Minerality, Chalk, Grapefruit, Orange Peel
Finish: Medium length finish, Brine, Minerality, Chalk, Grapefruit, Orange Peel
A very good juice rum. It leans very strongly into the savory side of the spectrum. Nice pops of Brine, some grapefruit, a nice chalk. It all works very well together and would be a powerhouse ti punch machine during the summer. It’s missing a bit of something to bring it up a level for me.
Final Score: 85
