Review #1456; Rum #755
This is a blend of rums bottled for the Black Tot Brand. Inspired by the British Navy Rums of yesteryear, this is a blend that is:
20% – 0-5 Year Guyana (DDL)
35% – 2-4 Year Trinidad
40% – 5 Year Barbados
5% – 3 Year Jamaica
Its bottled with no additives, non-chill filtered, and is aged tropically before bottling.
Distillery: Multiple
Bottler: Black Tot
Region: Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica
Still: Column and Pot
ABV: 46.2%
Nose: Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Caramel, Clove
Palate: Thin Mouthfeel, Dark Chocolate, Espresso, Vanilla, Clove
Finish: Medium length finish, Dark Chocolate, Espresso, Vanilla, Clove
This is just fine. It’s a good example of what a blend of navy rums can be. Vanilla, Espresso, Clove, Dark Chocolate, it all works well together for me. It’s a little on the thin side for me which brings it down a bit, but for an accessible rum blend, it should be on your list.
