Review #1458; Rum #757
Banter is a line of rums from New American rum distillery American Cane. Banter White here is a blend of rums from different origins of molasses and cane sugar, bottled unaged with no additives. Banter is here to hold us over while American Cane gets up and running producing rum. These blends were selected by Maggie Campbell and co for the US market. Maggie is also the CEO of American Cane.
With all that being laid out, lets see how it tastes.
Distillery: Various (Uknown)
Bottler: Banter (American Cane)
Region: Unknown
Still: Pot and Column
ABV: 40%
Nose: Lime Pith, Vanilla, Apple, Coconut
Palate: Thin Mouthfeel, Lime Pith, Pineapple, Vanilla, Toasted Coconut, Lemon Grass
Finish: Short finish, Lime Pith, Lemon Grass, Toasted Coconut, Vanilla
Now, this rum is likely meant to serve as a great mixing rum. I taste neat here though so that is what we will judge it on. For that, its just fine. The flavors here are nice as I like that interplay of lemon grass and Lime. It drinks at its proof which brings it down a bit but overall it’s a fine bottle of rum. I can see this making a mean daiquiri over the summer.
