Rhum Attitude Trinidad TDL 2005 18 Year

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1195; Rum #509

This is a single cask of rum from Trinidad bottled by Rhum Attitude. This rum was distilled from molasses on a column still at Trinidad Distillers Limited in 2005. It aged for 10 years in an ex-bourbon cask in Trinidad before being shipped to the UK where it aged for another 8 years. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives or chill filtering.

Distillery: Trinidad Distillers Limited

Bottler: Rhum Attitude

Region: Trinidad

Still: Column

Cask: Ex-Bourbon, 10 years in Trinidad, 8 Years in the UK

ABV: 64.1%

Nose: Mangos, Orange Peel, Raspberry, Star Anise, Pear, Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Nutmeg, Allspice

Palate:  Medium oily mouthfeel, Orange Peel, Raspberry, Dark Chocolate, Mango, Cherry, Vanilla, Allspice, Nutmeg, Pear, Star Anise

Finish: Long Finish, Black Pepper, Dark chocolate, Star Anise, Cherry, Mango, Vanilla, Nutmeg, Pear

Conclusion: An exceptionally fruit forward rum that lacks the industrial notes of the other TDL rums that I have had but it still spectacular. The spices and the star anise especially help to balance out the fruits. The oak and alcohol is well integrated as well.
