Sugarfield Spirits 3 Year Single Barrel #13

Review by: The Auditor

Review #1459; Rum #758

This is a rum from Sugarfield spirits located in Gonzales, Louisiana. This rum was fermented, distilled, barreled and aged all in Louisiana. The rum was aged for 3 years in a red port barrel at origin.

Distillery: Sugarfield Spirits

Bottler: Sugarfield Spirits

Region: Louisana, United States

Still: Pot

ABV: 55.6%

Nose: Red Berry, Dark Chocolate

Palate:  Medium mouthfeel, Dark Chocolate, Black Pepper, Raspberry, Vanilla, Oaky, Bitter, and Cinnamon

Finish: Medium length finish, Oaky, Black Pepper, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, Vanilla, Bitter, and Cinnamon

On first pass, this was pretty all right. However, the more I drank it the more a bitter tannic taste in my mouth built. The unaged experimental stuff is more of a hit for me from Sugarfield. This cask at least, misses the mark for me.

Final Score: 72
