Review #1496; Rum #795

This is a bottling of rum from Independent bottler Bedford Park. This comes from the Distillerie Bellevue on Capesterre, Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe. Fresh cut sugar cane was pressed for juice and distilled on a column still. It then aged for 8 years in an ex-bourbon cask before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.

A great example of aged agricole here. This has a thick and luscious mouthfeel, it has a nice herbaceousness to it which still feels vibrant closer in line with an unaged agricole more so than an aged offering, especially one aged for 8 years. Those nice savory notes help to provide some balance while just a bit of apple sweetness rounds it out. It is quite an impressive bottling here.
