This is a single cask of rum from Mississippi distillery Circle Hook. This rum was distilled from molasses, aged for a period of time at origin, and bottled at cask strength with no additives for Lincoln Road Package store.

Nose: Orange, Dark Chocolate, Nutmeg, Clove, Nutty, Sharpie Marker

Palate:Medium Mouthfeel, Orange, Vanilla, Nutmeg, Dark Chocolate, Sharpie Marker, Black Tea

Finish: Medium length finish, Black Tea, Dark Chocolate, Sharpie Marker, Nutmeg

This is a fine cask of rum. The oak feels on the edge of too much at times but it has a nice structure still. The fruit note are good and while the marker note is a bit of surprise, its brings a weird edge to the rum that I like.

Final Score: 82

  • 90-94: Sublime, a personal favorite in its category.
  • 85-89: Excellent, a standout dram.
  • 80-84: Quite good. Quality stuff.
  • 75-79: Decent whisky worth tasting.
  • 70-74: Meh. It’s definitely drinkable, but it can do better.
  • 60-69: Not so good. I might not turn down a glass if I needed a drink.
  • 50-59: Save it for mixing.
