Alambique Serrano 4 Años S.K.A.R.C.H

Review #1521; Rum #820

This is a single cask of rum from Alambique Serrano, the very well regarded (by me) Meixcan rum brand. SKARCH stands for Super Kool Alambique Rum Chicago Homies and was selected for its unique tastes. This fresh pressed cane juice rum was distilled on a column still. It then aged at origin for 39 months in ex-bourbon before ageing another 11 months in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon French Oak casks. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives.

Picoa Canoa Jr this is not, it is its own thing entirely. Fresh watermelon rind, clove, lemon, Honeydew, that refreshing cucumber note. This is all around excellent and one of the best single casks of Alambique I have had.
