This is a single cask of rum from Trinidad Distillery Limited. This rum was distilled in 2008 and aged for 11 years in tropical weather before aging the rest of the time in Europe. It was bottled at cask strength with no additives for Spirit of the Day. It is the Trinidad Heavy Marque and aged in ex-bourbon.

Distillery: Trinidad Distillers Limited

Bottler: Spirit of the Day

Region: Trinidad

Still: Column

Nose: Mango, Nutmeg, Raspberry, Sandalwood, Allspice, Peach Rings

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Peach Rings, Sandalwood, Allspice, Nutmeg, Mango, Menthol, Star Anise

Finish: Long finish, Peach Rings, Mango, Allspice, Nutmeg, Menthol, Star Anise

An excellent showing from TDL here. This is a very bright and fruit forward rum offering. Vibrant Mango, Peach and Raspberry in a compote kind of way. Rich spices help to balance it out and theres just enough of that menthol, star anise, cough syrup flavor to make things really interesting. A real standout that can go toe to toe with those 2000-2003 TDL releases for me.

Final Score: 91
